Knut Oberg, who won six gold medals in World Cup, tells you his ten alpine ski favorites.

Hemsedal

One ski area’s largest in Norway, often considered the best. It is equipped with 22 lifts, 48 trails and offers activities for all ages.
Narvik

This ski resort is located beyond the Arctic Circle. Because of the polar night, the best time to visit here is from March to June It has one of the steepest slopes of Norway, with views on to Ofotfjord breathtaking.
Kvitfjell

This relatively small resort, north of Lillehammer, includes the superb Olympic downhill course used at Lillehammer in 1994. In this connection, the last part of the trail is steeper than it looks on television.

Oppdal

For skiers, the trail has three sections Hovden very steep and the long, flat sides across fields. There are also tracks easier, more gentle slopes. Oppdal is located about 130 kilometers south of Trondheim.
Voss

When the weather is set fair, this is a very nice resort. It is located 100 kilometers north of Bergen.
Norefjell

Some very steep slopes and proximity to Oslo (only 100 kilometers) make Norefjell Station appreciated. Here were held in alpine skiing Olympic Oslo 1952.
Strandafjellet

Amidst the towering Alps Sunnmøre, this attractive resort which formerly housed the Women’s World Cup is interesting. If you have nothing against the lifts, this resort is great. Two lifts take you to the top of Roaldshornet (1 230 m) where the view over fjords and mountains is magnificent.
Trysil

The largest ski resort in Norway – 32 lifts and more than 70 kilometers of downhill runs on three slopes of the mountain. Very popular with families because of its ski school.
Hafjell

Site slalom and giant slalom at Lillehammer in 1994, Hafjell allows a good time skiing. Take the gondola to the top and choose between many long runs. Lasse Kjus, the skier now retired, has a ski school here and lives in his cottage. Try the track Kjus, very popular with amateurs and professionals alike.
Geilo

Four interrelated areas are one of the oldest ski resorts in Norway. You can now stay in nicer facilities. Take the lift Vestlia Express and get off the track quietly Asla.
