The Climbing Archive is not maintained anymore Print E-mail
We'd just gotten the new truck and got a little crazy and decided to go camping. We invited our next door neighbors, Skeeter and Winnie, to come with us since we had so much room. We dumped some of the kids off at my Moms and some off at Mildreds Moms and the older ones we got to stay at friends houses. I sure am proud of having so many kids but they are a pain sometime.

Anyways, we loaded up the truck with the dogs and Skeeter and Winnie and left town early Saturday morning about 10 and soon we were on our way to the mountains to a campground near the Indian Peaks. The truck ran great, we were able to do 75 and 80 miles an hour up the hills and I was glad it had that big 8 cylinder engine.

Mt Bierstadt climbing Print E-mail

The plan was a good one. It had been conceived, like many plans, amid the hubbub of the Four Seasons bar, around a table groaning with assorted beverages. Nonetheless the basic idea still seemed reasonable in the calmer atmosphere of the following day. This fact alone was novel enough for us to pursue the matter. There is climbing the Mediterranean? Sure there is, think of Sardinia, say many. Think or Gaeta Sperlonga, add more. And Amalfi, then, and Sicily, where you put it? ... and Kalymnos?

By the way, just Kalymnos, from the 2nd to 8th of October has unfolded a large rock climbing festival. And the Greek island, the sea of climbing, this "rally" and many more other flavors and colors of the Mediterranean tells Manolo.

Also, if anybody has any suggestions on good places to stay in the Squamish area or South-Western B.C. in general , feel free to pass those tips along too. There are a ton of Squamish and Whistler timeshare resorts , B&Bs, hotels, and campgrounds in the area, but personal recommendations are always helpful.
