ROCK The rock and roll turns 50

Submitted by on Wednesday, 31 March 2010No Comment

This Monday is the 50th anniversary of one of the most popular genres of
contemporary music: rock and roll.

Based mainly on the rhythm & blues, rock was characterized by the
use of electric guitar, his sense of rhythm and lyrics with a distinctly
youthful content.

On 5 July 1954, Elvis Presley recorded the legendary song "That’s All Right Mama", considered by many to be one of the issues that changed the course of music, making way for a new musical genre which was then cultivated by bands like The Rolling Stones, The Who and the Beatles.

However, there are those who point out that this date does more good reference to the time when rock and roll became a commercial product and that the origin of this musical style goes back at least five years ago.
