This is intended to be the place where recent news about Squamish climbing and related issues is placed. Basically the sort of things climbers would find interesting, or necessary to know, and which are current news. Paragraphs which are new (since the last update) are marked with a graphic. Many of these items are lifted from CASBC bulletins. Check out their homepage for more details on BC climbing and access news!

CASBC recently replaced (again) the anchor bolts at the top of Burgers and Fries. The old ones were removed by persons unknown. If anyone has any information they should contact Anders Ourum of the Climbers Access Society.

HTML clipboard Image West Coast Native tradition is proudly moulded into our valley and the naming of the August Jack Motor Inn continues with this tradition.The August Jack Motor Inn was named after a well known, popular Indian Chief, August Jack. Permission to use the name August Jack was given by his daughter Mrs. Frances (Louise) Williams and son Wilfred Williams, both Squamish residents. They were pleased and felt it a great honour to have their father's name take a prominent place in the community.

Also, if anybody has any suggestions on good places to stay in the Squamish area or South-Western B.C. in general , feel free to pass those tips along too. There are a ton of Squamish and Whistler timeshare resorts , B&Bs, hotels, and campgrounds in the area, but personal recommendations are always helpful.
