ICE CLIMBING – PERU
The Cordillera Blanca and Huascaran National Park offers tourists an endless circuit of ice climbing. Within the Huascaran National Park, especially the Cordillera Blanca, are conducive to its practice areas, which each year attracts domestic and foreign tourists, so Huaraz has rightly been recognized as "Capital of Mountain Climbing in Peru and South America ". These areas have a multitude of ice climbing circuit, where it is advisable to do an acclimatization before reaching the mountain.
Over 180 km of the Cordillera Blanca, there are more than 35 snowy peaks above 6,000 meters, being the Nevado Huascaran (6 768 m) the highest peak in Peru snowed and snowed the second highest in South America ( after the Aconcagua), the Nevado Huascaran is the world’s highest tropical.
