A Certified Professional Guide

Submitted by on Wednesday, 13 January 2010No Comment

Guide Jay Philbrick is an American Mountain Guides Association certified Level II Rock Guide and certified Alpine Guide. He is a full-time professional climbing guide and instructor working with Chauvin Guides International out of North Conway, New Hampshire in the middle of the White Mountain National Forest. Through Chauvin Guides International he offers a full year-round program of climbing instruction, guiding and skiing in the Mount Washington Valley. Whatever your goals are in terms of rock climbing, ice climbing or skiing we can custom tailor a course to meet your needs. The formal training and certification exams that Jay has completed and that are required by Chauvin Guides International allow us to provide you with the best day of rock climbing, ice climbing or skiing possible.

It is important to note that none of the training or exams that the guides at Chauvin Guides International have gone through are required. In fact the majority of climbing guides in the United States have not had any formal training or testing. As the American Mountain Guides Association states, because of the lack of this requirement "anyone can be a guide." Chauvin Guides International has been at the forefront of the movement to encourage guides to undergo formalized training and certification. In fact at CGI it’s not just encouraged but is a requirement for employment that guides not only have formal training but must at least be certified as AMGA level I rock guides. It is this dedication to achieving a higher standard which gives us the technical ability, flexibility, and confidence a guide needs to provide quality guiding.

Whatever your experience or ability level we hope you’ll give us a try. Jay and CGI look forward to sharing our love of the mountains and offering you a rewarding experience. We take pride in providing you with exceptional service. See what a certified guide can do for you!

If you like rock climbing, you know it's a sport where you can get both a full body workout and still have fun, who could ask for more than indoor rock climbing? This intense sport has managed to pick up more momentum every year, and with good reason. Whether you're the outdoorsy type, or prefer to keep yourself out of the weather and indoors, indoor rock climbing provides an available sport to you. With outdoor mountains being almost unlimited and more indoor rock climbing centers being created each year, you have the option of either one! Also with technology in rock climbing wall you never have to worry about the weather ruining your daily rock climbing gyms fix. Not much is more rewarding then starting at the bottom and climbing your way to the top, in life and with rock wall climbing, and by taking part in rock climbing you can do just that.
